Officer Profiles

Veronica Green, President

Veronica began her reporting career in Visalia, California, in 1994 working for a deposition firm and also as a pro tem reporter for the court.  Upon relocating to Northern California in 1999, she primarily freelanced, reporting depositions and hearings until being hired by Placer County Superior Court in 2008.  Currently, Veronica is an official at Sacramento County Superior Court for the Honorable Laurel D. White.

Veronica and her husband, Randy, and their son, Logan, reside in Rocklin, while their eldest daughter works and resides in Sacramento, and their middle daughter attends Sacramento State University.

In addition to spending quality time with family and friends, Veronica enjoys traveling, boating, and hiking.  She is always looking forward to her next trip.

Karen Sotelo,  Vice President

Karen started her career in 1994 as a deposition reporter in Sacramento. Although her years as a freelance reporter were mainly filled with depositions, hearings and the like, she loved working in court. She accepted a position as an official in Placer County in 2008 and worked there until 2013. Karen was hired in Nevada County and worked there from 2013 to 2014. Her current position is with Sacramento County Superior Court as an official with the Honorable Trena H. Burger-Plavan.

Karen has been married to her husband, Augie for 29 years. They reside in Grass Valley. They have on son, Jade, who resides and attends school in Eugene, Oregon.

On the weekends you can find Karen running the trails of the foothills, working in her yard, or spending time with her friends and family….including their two German shepherds.

Angela Weston, Secretary

Angela obtained her CSR license in 1998. She began her career as a freelance reporter in the Bay Area and then in Sacramento.  In 2005, she was thrilled to become an official court reporter with Sacramento County.  Angela enjoys traveling, yoga, and any activity that can be done outdoors.

Gareth Briscoe, Treasurer

Gareth began his court reporting journey in his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, before coming to California to embark on his reporting career.  He transferred to and subsequently graduated from the Argonaut program in Sacramento, and he has been enjoying his career and life in California.  In his free time, apart from volunteering for NCCRA and CCRA, Gareth enjoys playing the cello, gaming and hiking.
